Weight is everything in 4x4 Monster Truck, a side-view off-road driving game whose numbered levels throw sandy hills, steep ramps and a row of giant rings at you. Flooring the gas rarely works, because the truck shifts and bucks with every input. You ease the throttle on climbs, brake lightly on the way down and keep all four tires gripping on the way to the end of each course.
How to play 4x4 Monster Truck
- Drive from the left side of each level toward the end, crossing bumps, sandy hills, ramps and giant rings.
- Give the truck short bursts of gas on steep climbs, since too much power lifts the nose and can flip you backward.
- Brake gently and steadily on descents to keep the front end planted.
- Reach the end of the course to move on to the next numbered level.

Tips to play better
- Roll into a tall step with a little momentum instead of stopping at its base; a standing start often stalls halfway up.
- Cross the giant rings at a steady crawl, since speeding over their curved tops tends to bounce the truck off the far side.
- Lift off the gas just before you top a crest so the truck rolls over it instead of launching into the air.
- When a run at an obstacle clearly goes wrong, back off and try it again rather than forcing it into a rollover.

Why does my truck keep tipping over backward on hills?
You are giving it too much gas on a steep slope. Take a short run-up, press the throttle in quick bursts and let off for a moment whenever the front wheels start to rise.
Is it better to crawl or go fast over obstacles?
It depends on the obstacle. Gentle bumps are fine at an even speed, but steep ramps and the giant rings call for a controlled crawl, and a tidy run nearly always ends up quicker than a wild one.
