A glowing fretboard with four colored buttons along the bottom is the stage for Neon Guitar, a lane-based rhythm game. Notes travel down the lanes toward the strum line, and you press the matching key the moment each one arrives. Your score sits on the left above a meter, a Special bar waits on the right, and the best runs come from steady timing rather than frantic mashing.
How to play Neon Guitar
- Choose a song and a difficulty, then watch the notes start moving down the four lanes.
- Press the key for a lane just as its note reaches the colored button at the bottom.
- Chain accurate hits to keep your score climbing.
- Reach the end of the song with as few misses as you can, then try a harder setting.

Tips to play better
- Keep your eyes on the strum line and read the notes a few beats ahead instead of following each one down.
- Rest your left hand on A and S and your right hand on K and L, so each hand covers two lanes.
- Use light, quick presses; they release faster than heavy ones and keep you ready for the next note.
- Wear headphones if you can, because hearing the beat clearly makes off-beat notes easier to time.
