Run, jump and blast your way across a red planet
A green alien with wobbly antennae and a purple shirt is the hero of E.T., a side-scrolling platformer set on a red, rocky planet. You run and jump between ledges, zap goggle-eyed monsters with a ray gun and collect the blue gems hanging in the air. Each stage hides three stars, and three green hearts show how many hits you can take.
How to play E.T.
- Start a new game from the title screen, or pick Continue to carry on where you left off.
- Run and jump along the rocky ledges, clearing the gaps between them.
- Shoot the monsters in your way with the ray gun before they reach you.
- Collect gems for points and look for the three stars hidden in each stage.

Tips to play better
- Fire as soon as a monster appears at the edge of the screen, before it gets close enough to cost you a heart.
- Gems can hang in tidy blocks above a ledge, so time one jump to sweep through as many as possible.
- Stop before any long jump and check what the nearby creatures are doing first.
- When you are down to one heart, slow down and clear each monster from range before moving on.
