Spot the number each book has that the others lack

Despite the name, Crossword for Kids is a number hunt. Each level opens three books covered in numbers of different sizes and angles, and the scribe who copied them slipped up, so every book holds one number the other two lack. Find that number in all three books before the timer runs out, and each solved book turns into a gold star.

How to play Crossword for Kids

  1. Press play on the balloon title screen and choose one of the 20 numbered levels.
  2. Compare the three open books and look for a number that appears in only one of them.
  3. Click or tap that number; when you are right, the book turns into a gold star.
  4. Find the odd number in all three books before the countdown in the top corner reaches zero.
  5. Win and a Victory panel offers a replay, the level list or the next level; run out of time and a retry button appears.

Tips to play better

  • Work through one book number by number and check each against the other two; the one you cannot find elsewhere is the answer.
  • Watch for rotated digits, since the books tilt numbers at odd angles and a 6 can pass for a 9.
  • The countdown is shorter from level 2 on, so settle on a quick routine in the first level.
  • Younger players can read the numbers aloud while a grown-up checks the other books.

Crossword for Kids FAQ

Is Crossword for Kids really a crossword?

No. There are no clues or letter grids. It is a number-spotting puzzle: compare three books and find the one number each book has that the others do not.

What happens if the timer runs out?

The level stops and a large retry button appears, so you can try the same books again. Solve all three books in time and a Victory panel appears instead.
