A buff shark, a hungry sea, one high score
Mad Shark casts you as a grinning, muscle-bound shark that flexes on the title screen and is hungry for anything that swims. In play the sea scrolls past while you move the shark up and down, snapping up small fish and keeping clear of spiky mines. A distance counter, your score and a heart count ride along the top, and the menu keeps your high and last scores.
How to play Mad Shark
- Move the shark with the up and down arrow buttons in the bottom-left corner.
- Swim into fish to eat them and raise your score.
- Steer around the spiky mines, and grab the hearts floating in bubbles when you can.
- Stay alive to stretch the distance counter, then try to top your high score.

Tips to play better
- Tap the arrows in short presses rather than holding them, so the shark does not overshoot into a mine.
- Let risky fish go; one swimming right beside a mine is rarely worth the damage of reaching it.
- Watch the right edge of the screen, where new fish and mines scroll in, and pick your lane early.

When does a run end?
When the shark runs out of hearts after too many hits. Until then you can keep eating, adding to your score and pushing the distance counter up.
Is the shark too fierce for young players?
Not at all. It is a goofy cartoon bodybuilder with a big grin, and the sea around it is bright and colorful.
