Jetpack Heroes puts a rocket pack on a young hero, such as the pirate-hatted kid from the title screen, and sends him flying over hills and pine trees. Wooden posts hang from above and rise from below, and axes swing on chains between them. Thread the gaps, scoop up gold coins and keep an eye on your hearts and your fuel gauge.

How to play Jetpack Heroes

1. Press and hold to fire the jetpack and rise.
2. Let go to drift back down.
3. Steer through the gaps between the wooden posts and slip past the swinging axes while picking up coins.
4. Each hit costs one of your three hearts; when they are gone the flight is over, so aim to travel farther each time.

Tips to play better

• Use short, quick presses rather than long holds; small bursts keep you steady.
• Hold a height around mid-screen; from there you can dodge upward or downward with equal ease.
• Pass a swinging axe just after it swings away from your line, not while it is on its way back.
• Watch the next obstacle while you clear the current one, so you are already at the right height when it arrives.
