Solitaire where words gather under their categories
Word Solitaire swaps suits for subjects. Each level deals four columns on green felt, with a deck in the corner and three empty slots marked with crowns. Category cards such as History, Insects or Fitness show how many words they need, and every word card belongs to one of them: Ancient and Treaty to History, Gym or Pilates to Fitness. A full pile clears away and frees its slot, and each move costs one from a limited budget.
How to play Word Solitaire
- Drag a category card, such as History 0/4, into one of the crown slots.
- Drag word cards that belong to that category onto it; its counter climbs with each one.
- Click the deck to turn up a new card when the columns are stuck.
- Complete a category to clear its pile and free the slot for the next one.
- Finish before the Moves counter in the corner runs out.
Controls
| Drag (mouse or finger) | Move category and word cards |
|---|---|
| Click / tap the deck | Turn up a new card |
| Undo button | Take back a move |
Tips to play better
- Open the category with the most word cards in view first; it clears soonest and frees a slot.
- Each play takes one from the Moves counter, so avoid moving cards back and forth.
- Turn to the deck when none of the face-up cards can go anywhere.

Word Solitaire FAQ
How does a category get cleared?
By filling it. Once every Fitness word was on its pile, the whole stack cleared away and the crown slot opened again.
Is there a limit on moves?
Yes. A Moves counter sits in the corner, and the first level started at 24.
