Glowing alien rows, crumbling shields, one cannon

Neon Invaders is a fixed-screen shooter in the old arcade style, redrawn in glowing outlines. Rows of aliens and saucers shuffle side to side and step closer to the ground, while you slide a cannon along the bottom and shoot them down before they land. Shields give cover but crumble under fire, and the formation speeds up as it thins out.

How to play Neon Invaders

  1. Move your cannon left and right along the bottom of the screen.
  2. Fire upward to destroy the aliens before the formation reaches the ground.
  3. Duck behind the shields to block enemy shots, knowing they wear away with every hit.
  4. Clear every alien to bring on the next wave; the game ends if the invaders land or your cannon takes too many hits.

Tips to play better

  • Thin out one side of the formation first; a narrower block has farther to travel before it turns and drops.
  • Shoot the bonus saucer when it crosses the top, since it is worth far more than a regular alien.
  • The last few aliens in a wave move fastest, so lead your shots slightly ahead of them.
  • Fire from the gaps between shields, then slip back under cover when enemy shots rain down.

Neon Invaders FAQ

What does the flying saucer do in Neon Invaders?

It crosses the top of the screen now and then. Hitting it earns a large bonus, so take the shot when your lane is safe.

Why do the aliens keep getting faster?

The formation speeds up as you destroy more of it, so the final stragglers in each wave are the hardest to hit.
