Dogfights over the islands for a high score
Seen from high above, a blue sea dotted with small green islands becomes the battlefield in Great Air Battles. You steer a fighter on a tall screen with an on-screen joystick, shooting enemy aircraft out of the sky for points and slipping away from their fire. A clock and your score run along the top, and the title screen keeps your high score and last score.
How to play Great Air Battles
- Press the orange play button to take off.
- Drag the red knob of the joystick at the bottom of the screen to steer your plane into line with enemy aircraft.
- Keep moving to dodge enemy bullets and planes heading your way.
- When your plane goes down, your score is saved as the last score and compared with your high score.

Tips to play better
- Stay in the lower half of the screen so you have more time to see enemies coming.
- Sweep from side to side to bring more planes into your line of fire.
- Never park in one spot; small, constant moves make you much harder to hit.
- Nudge the joystick knob rather than shoving it to the rim, so small corrections keep the plane where you want it.
